The Depot's Organ!

Now onto the organ!

There are a lot of musical instruments at The Depot.  Today we are going to talk about a mysterious organ that was gifted to the family in the 1950's.

In the late 1950's, a lady asked my Great Grandmother, Mary Aline Kerr if she could store the organ here.  Mary Aline Kerry stored it, the lady died, no one of her family wanted it, and it was gifted to us.  So here it stands at The Depot.

In 1968-69, the family looked at the Encyclopedia Britannica which explained the mechanisms of the organ.  Mary Eleanor Wyatt, Josephine Wyatt-Ashmead, and Gwen Wyatt cleaned each piece and put it back together.  They found out that the problem was with its bellows. The girls fixed it and voila it worked once more!  Josephine Wyatt-Ashmead played on it voraciously.
