1) The "new" bathroom is being built where an "old" restroom was placed. This men's restroom was most likely installed later in the Depot's history.
It is doubtful that this bathroom was built during the 1886 addition to the Depot. This is because the bathroom seems to be added onto the 1886 "Baggage Room" as an afterthought.
|See how it looks like a "three colored box" was added to this Baggage Room?|
2) For those worried about the original pieces of the Depot being destroyed, do not worry! No wood has been destroyed or discarded. All of it has been carefully saved and will be used in future restoration projects.
3) If anyone is upset about us creating a doorway between the two rooms. You shouldn't be, at least not from an historic viewpoint. This "new" doorway is not new. In fact it was sealed in the walls and has been "reopened." Ta Da!
That ends this week's updates. Stay tuned for more information on the project and these two rooms. If you have any ideas or thoughts, do not hesitate to leave a comment below.
Have a great weekend!
